Terms of use

Last updated 26 Oct 2026

These terms govern use of BusinessMates, provided by StartupMates Private Limited (“we”, “us”) at businessmates.in. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, if you sign up a firm, that firm.

The service

BusinessMates helps Chartered Accountant firms manage clients, compliance deadlines and documents, and gives their clients a portal. Due dates in BusinessMates are the standard statutory dates; authorities often extend them. Your firm remains responsible for checking the applicable dates and for the accuracy and timeliness of every filing.

Accounts

  • Keep passwords private and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
  • Firm admins decide who in the firm, and which clients, get access, and are responsible for their use.
  • You must give accurate information when signing up.

Your data

Your firm owns the data it puts into BusinessMates. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. You confirm you have the right to upload it, including your clients’ data.

Acceptable use

  • No unlawful content, malware, or attempts to access other firms’ data.
  • No attempts to disrupt, overload or reverse engineer the service.
  • No reselling access without our written agreement.

Trials, fees and taxes

New firms get a free trial of 30 days. After that, continued use needs a paid plan. Fees are as agreed with you or as shown on our pricing page, plus GST. See our refund and cancellation policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep BusinessMates available and secure, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve or change features; we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what you pay for.

Suspension and closing

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend an account for non-payment or misuse, or to protect the service or other users. After closing, you can ask us to export your data within 30 days.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including penalties or interest arising from late or incorrect filings, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction over disputes.
